KAVACH 2023: Odisha’s Centurion University Hosts Cyber Security Hackathon

Bhubaneswar: Centurion University, Odisha was among five zonal centres which hosted ‘KAVACH 2023’, a Cyber Security Hackathon.

The hackathon, organised in physical mode, was themed ‘Identification of innovative concepts and technology solutions for addressing security challenges of the 21st century faced by our intelligence agencies.’

The grand event was a 36-hour event featuring 23 teams comprising 138 participants who qualified for the final phase.

Every team is mandated to have at least one female student, providing a platform for women to venture into cyber security.

The talented students are given 20 problem statements rooted in the cyber security milieu, summoning imaginative minds to vie for supremacy by submitting their visionary solutions.

The teams have to work on problem statements related to cyber security, focusing on new-age women’s safety app, obscenity blocker solution, advanced fake news detection system, phishing detection solution, cutting-edge ANPR and FRS solutions, dark web crawler, spam alert system, malware analysis tool, sophisticated CCTV analytics solution, RAM dump collection tool, citizen safety app for safeguarding against cybercrimes, tool for tracking fund trails, mechanism for monitoring ground personnel, chat messenger decryption tool, mesh network app detector, solution for identifying LoRa usage, hardware forensic suite, plug & play system security audit tool, mechanism for auditing portable electronic device hardware and an indigenous crypto currency investigation tool.

KAVACH 2023, launched by All India Council for Technological Education (AICTE) along with Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell and Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D) of MHA and Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) of MHA, offers a unique opportunity for students and startups with innovative minds to bridge the gap between classroom learning and industrial application which is widening exponentially due to AI-driven technology making significant strides in the IT domain globally.
