Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala became the latest state to announce the COVID-19 vaccine free for its people.
“Kerala government will provide COVID-19 vaccine free of cost for all above 18 years of age,” chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan said on Wednesday evening.
Assam and Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday announced that the state governments will bear cost of vaccination of its people. Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh followed on Wednesday.
Those above 18 years of age will be eligible for the vaccine from May 1.
Also, states will be able to acquire the vaccine from manufacturers.
