Khurda: After Keonjhar, Khurda district administration on Thursday imposed prohibitory orders at certain places to prevent congregation on the occasion of Raja festival.
Khurda administration imposed the prohibitory orders under Section 144 around the temples of Goddess Barunei near Khurda and Ugratara in Tangi have from June 14 to 20.
According to sources, the restrictions were imposed as a large number of people turn up at the shrines during the Raja festival, which is celebrated with enthusiasm and fervour in the areas, every year. The step aims at preventing spread of coronavirus.
The Keonjhar administration has also banned any type of congregation during the Raja. According to a notification, any gathering for celebrations like Raja Doli, Mela, Mahotsav, and feast and traditional games related to Raja festival is strictly forbidden from June 11 to 16.
