Khurda Cops Come To Rescue Of Bengal Migrant Labourers

Khurda: Police came to the rescue of some migrant labourers belonging to West Bengal in Khurda on Friday.

According to sources, 52 migrant labourers belonging to Malda, Murshidabad and Kolkata were returning to their respective native places on foot from Visakhapatnam on National Highway 16 when Khurda police spotted them.

On being enquired, the labourers said they have been walking for several days to reach their homes as neither bus nor train was available.’

The police provided water bottles and snacks to them besides arranging a bus from OSRT. The bus carrying the labourers left Khurda for Bengal at 1.45 pm. Khurda SP and other senior police officers were present.
