Khurda & Cuttack Account For Half Of New COVID Cases In Odisha
Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID caseload in Odisha dropped below 700 for second consecutive day on Sunday with 649 people testing positive in the last 24 hours.
Of these, Khurda district with 235 new cases and Cuttack (84) accounted for 49 per cent of the caseload in the state.
Alos, 103 new infections (15.87 per cent) belong to the 0-18 years age group.
According to the I & PR department, 381 of the new infections are from quarantine and 268 local contacts.

Besides, 52 are from the state pool.
Odisha had reported 630, 745, 771, 762, 638, 609 and 719 new cases on September 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, and 5, respectively. The infection rate among children on those days was 18 per cent, 15.9 per cent, 15 per cent, 13.3 per cent, 14.5 per cent, 20 per cent and 16.27 per cent, respectively.
Odisha now has 6957 active cases.
