Khurda: Protesting against the attack on paediatrician Manas Ranjan Das and druggist Krushna Chandra Sahu, who succumbed to bullet wounds, medicine shop owners of Khurda town downed shutters on Monday.
The District Chemist and Druggist Association, in a release, demanded the arrest of the culprit within 24 hours failing which it threatened to go on an indefinite strike from December 18 and close all medicine shops in the town.
Meanwhile, Khurda SP Ajay Pratap Swain told the media that four special teams have been formed and they have left for Nayagarh, Bhubaneswar, Berhampur and Khurda to trace the accused.
The SP said that footage of the CCTVs in different areas in and around the town were being examined. In one of the footage, the suspect was seen heading towards Nayagarh on a motorcycle, he added.
“We have sent the CCTV photo of the suspect to all jail authorities for his identification and criminal antecedents,” he pointed out.
