Hyderabad: A leaked document showing prices of Kia’s upcoming urban SUV Sonet is doing the rounds. While it is not clear whether the document is authentic or not, it shows that the Sonet could be priced between ₹6.99 lakh and ₹12.99 lakh.
The 1.2-litre petrol, according to the document, will be priced between ₹6.99 lakh and ₹8.29 lakh. The turbo petrol could range between ₹9.49 lakh and ₹11.99 lakh. The diesel, on the other hand, could start at ₹8.39 lakh and go up to ₹12.99 lakh for the top GTX Plus automatic variant.
Based on the Hyundai Venue, the Kia Sonet is powered by similar engines. There is a 1.2-litre petrol engine producing 82 BHP, a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine producing 118 BHP and a 1.5-litre diesel in two tunes — 99BHP and 113BHP.
The turbo petrol will be available with either a 6-speed iMT or 7-speed DCT.
The 99BHP diesel is available only with a 6-speed manual gearbox while the higher tuned engine comes with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
The base 1.2-litre petrol engine is available only with a manual transmission.
