A  B.Tech student from IGIT Sarang, Pritiranjan joined the kickboxing team of the college and underwent rigorous training. After competing with India’s best kick boxers, he managed to qualify for this championships.

However, the aspiring kick boxer cannot afford to fly to Thailand for the international championship on his own due to his poor financial condition. He is hoping to meet this expenditure with financial support from the state government or sponsorships from corporates.

Expressing their helplessness, Pritiranjan’s father Pramod Kumar Patra said, “Being a daily wager I am incapable of sending him to Bangkok. He is a bright student and I am sure he would do well in life after passing out from IGIT Sarang.”

“We don’t have enough money to send him to Bangkok, so I request the government to help him achieve his dreams,” said Pritiranjan’s mother Saraswati Patra.

In a kickboxing event held in Siliguri, Pritiranjan had defeated fighters from Assam, Mizoram, Maharashtra and Rajasthan to bag the Gold medal.
