Bhubaneswar: KIIT-DU has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Air Force (IAF) to facilitate higher education opportunities for serving and retired personnel as well as their wards in both engineering and medical programmes.
The agreement was formalised between Air Vice Marshal Harjit S Sidana, VAssistant Chief of the Air Staff (Education), and KIIT-DU Vice Chancellor Prof Saranjit Singh on Friday.
“The MoU provides significant educational benefits, including concession in tuition fees for wards of serving and retired IAF personnel. In addition fee exemption and support will be extended to the wards of personnel who lost their lives while in service. Admissions will be subject to eligibility criteria such as NEET for medical and dental programs and KIITEE for other courses,” a KIIT release said.
The wards have to fulfil NEET criteria for admission into Medical and Dental science programme and KIIT Entrance Examination (KIITEE) criteria for admission to all other programmes. “The prime objective of this MoU is to ensure quality education and financial support for the wards of Indian Air Force personnel. This collaboration also paves the way for joint initiatives between KIIT faculty and the education wing of the Indian Air Force in R&D projects and development of short-term educational programmes,” Singh said.
