Bhubaneswar: The 21st Annual Convocation of KIIT Deemed to be University will begin on September 26.
This is the first time the convocation will be spread over three days to accommodate the large number of graduating students and their parents. Degrees will be conferred on 7,235 undergraduate students, 2,034 postgraduates, and 195 PhD scholars.
Distinguished personalities, including Prof Mohan Munasinghe, Nobel Laureate from Sri Lanka; H E Ouided Bouchamaoui, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate from Tunisia; Justice Abdulqawi Ahmed Yusuf, Judge & Former President, International Court of Justice, and Justice Dalveer Bhandari, Judge, International Court of Justice, Dr Fidel Reyes Lee, Rector, Member of Congress, Republic of Guatemala; Dr Huzaifa Khorakiwala, Executive Director, Wockhardt Ltd. and Global Humanitarian Advocate; Norbert Sauer, Founding Chairman, Youth for Understanding Foundation, Germany; Sunjoy Hans, Founder Chairman, Lalchnd Group; S K Sachdeva, Chairman & Editor, Competition Success Review; Anant Mahapatra, noted Film & Theatre Director will be conferred with Honoris Causa degree in recognition of their outstanding contributions to society.
According to an institute release, the convocation has been designed in three parts, with each day focusing on specific schools of the University. On the first day on September 26, degrees will confer on students of Medical Sciences, second day on students of Law and Management studies; and on third day on students of Technology.
