Berhampur: The Forest official in association with the members of the Snake Helpline rescued a huge King Cobra from Karunakar Upper Nodal School premises in Patrapur block in Ganjam district on Saturday evening.
According to reports, some children while playing inside the school premises near the block office in the afternoon, noticed a huge King Cobra and ran away from the school.
After the children informed their family members about the incident, some locals searched the school premises and found the snake inside a newly constructed drain and informed the Forest officials at Samantiapalli who rushed to the spot and informed the Snake Helpline members.
After an hour-long effort, the 12-feet long King Cobra was captured. The Forest staff later released the snake into a nearby forest.
