Dubai: KL Rahul shattered a couple of records, including one held by the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, at the Dubai International Stadium on Thursday evening.
Rahul smashed a sensational unbeaten 132 off 69 deliveries as Kings XI Punjab amassed 206 for 3 against Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore. It was the highest individual score by an Indian in IPL history, surpassing Rishabh Pant’s 128 not out two years ago.
During the course of his knock, Rahul crossed the 2000-run milestone in his 60th innings in the world’s most popular T20 league. Tendulkar, who played six seasons for Mumbai Indians before he retired, had reached 2000 runs in 63 innings.
Gautam Gambhir (68 innings) is third on the list, followed by Suresh Raina (69) and Virender Sehwag (70).
