Know How Actor Varun Dhawan Spent His 35th Birthday & His Best Roles
Mumbai: It’s Varun Dhawan’s 35th birthday today and, on his special day, the actor didn’t take an off but woke up at 5:30 am to be on the sets of Nitesh Tiwari’s Bawaal.
“It ain’t my sweet 16, but super happy to spend this bday working. The last 2 birthday were spent at home but feels great to be out here on set getting up at 530 in the morning and reporting to a @niteshtiwari22 set #bawaal. 2022 is special for me with #jugjuggjeyo and #bhediya set for release,” he wrote on Instagram.
The actor struck a pose in a crisp white shirt and beige pants in what appeared to be his vanity van.
On his special day, here’s a look at the actor’s top performances.
Badlapur
Varun’s portrayal of Raghav seeking revenge showed his hunger for meaty characters in the early part of his career. The role sent him to a morgue, a prison and an ICU. At the end of it all, he was so drained that it led to depression. The gritty scenes of his conversation with his wife in hospital before she passes away, then returning to an empty home after the devastated loss speak volumes about the preparation the actor did for this role.
October
This could be Varun’s best performance in a film devoid of any mainstream elements. Dan and Shiuli are hotel management internees. A sudden tragic event brings them together and he is drawn to Shiuli. A casual friendship that takes the form of dedication and care for another person, which eventually translates into a warm relationship strikes a chord with the audience even today.
Sui Dhagga
“Sui Dhaaga made me a better artist. I have never learnt so many new things for a film and these skills helped me get into the psyche of my character, his life and struggles,” Varun said about his character earlier.
“Mauji is a dreamer who wants to make a name for himself and win the love and respect of his wife, Mamta, and his family. In order to achieve his simple dreams, Mauji has to learn various aspects of tailoring, weaving and handloom,” he had said.
On the workfront, Varun will be seen in Bhediya directed by Amar Kaushik and slated for release in November. He will also be seen in Jug Jugg Jeeyo produced by Karan Johar and directed by Raj Mehta, which is slated for a June release.
