Jajpur: Five persons from Jajpur district tested corona positive on Sunday, taking the total number of COVID-19 cases in the district to 60.
According to the sources, three among them – one from Basudevpur and two from Erba panchayat under Jajpur block – have travel history to West Bengal. Two among them were in government quarantine centre, and the other in home quarantine.
The remaining two cases have been reported from Deoda and Patunia panchayats under Dharamsala block and the patients are Surat returnees.
All five have now been shifted to COVID-19 Hospital in Kalinganagar and the quarantine homes sanitized.
The district administration, however, has announced no new containment zones in the locality.
In addition, the administration has decided to implement Section 144 in the areas to contain the spread of the virus, the sources added.
With two patients having recovered from the disease, Jajpur now had 58 active cases.
