Bhubaneswar: Following the high dram involving lead actors of the recently-released Odia movie ‘Premam’ Babushaan Mohanty and Prakruti Mishra and the former’s wife, Bhubaneswar DCP Prateek Singh on Saturday confirmed a complaint has been lodged at Kharavel Nagar police station.

“The actress’ mother, Krushna Priya Mishra, lodged a complaint with Kharavel Nagar police that some people intercepted the vehicle when the actress was going to work and assaulted her. She alleged that Prakruti was subjected to both mental and physical harassment. A case has been registered under Section 341 (wrongful restraint), 294 9obscene act), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of IPC.”

Refusing to divulge the names of people named in the FIR, the DCP said the facts and evidence, including the viral videos, in the case are being investigated. “Once these are verified, action will be taken against the accused,” he added.

In the video which has gone viral on social media, Babushaan’s wife Trupti can be seen stopping a vehicle in which her husband is in the driver’s seat with Prakruti sitting beside him.

Though the reasons behind this incident is not clear, it is being discussed in different circles that Babushaan is having domestic issues which played out in public.
