Prayagraj: The ongoing protest against the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission’s (UPPSC) by students and aspirants in Prayagraj intensified on Thursday.

Why are the aspirants protesting?
Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission aspirants in Prayagraj are demanding that the Review Officer and Assistant Review Officer (RO-ARO) and Provincial Civil Services (PCS) preliminary exams be held on the same day to avoid potential confusion and ensure fairness.
The protest was launched after the commission on November 5 announced to hold the examinations on different days in different shifts.
The aspirants are also miffed at the UPPSC’s failure to conduct exams on time for the past two years. Earlier in January, the commission had issued a notification for the Uttar Pradesh Civil Services exam, which was originally scheduled for March but was deferred to October.
“Anti-social elements provoking UPPSC students”
As the protest entered its fourth day on Thursday, Prayagraj Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Abhishek Bharti told ANI that some anti-social elements were provoking the aspirants and were joining the demonstrations. He urged the students to conduct peaceful demonstrations.
