Sambalpur: Hundreds of locals of Korada in Sambalpur district staged a blockade on National Highway-49 on Monday to press for their four-point charter of demands.
“The district administration should conduct an impartial probe into land acquisition irregularities. Our other demands are widening of the National Highway passing through the area, involvement of locals in the land acquisition process and development of Kuroda School and its playground,” a local resident said.
The blockade under the banner of Korada Banchao Manch disrupted vehicular movement on the stretch.
The agitators relented after the district officials assured them that their demands will be looked into.
