Mumbai: Mumbai Indians all-rounder Krunal Pandya was on Thursday questioned by officials of Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) at Mumbai International airport on suspicion of being in possession of undisclosed gold and other valuables.
The elder brother of Team India cricketer Hardik Pandya was returning home from the UAE after helping Mumbai Indians win the Indian Premier League for the fifth time on Tuesday night.
Sources said DRI officials recovered more gold than is permitted to be brought into country from Krunal.
The left-handed batsman and left-arm spinner is being questioned by the authorities, who demanded official papers for the extra valuables.
Krunal has played 18 T20 Internationals for India and 71 IPL matches for Mumbai Indians so far.
