Labourer Engaged In Beautification Work At Konark Temple Injured, Hospitalised

Konark: A labourer, who was engaged in beautification work at Sun Temple in Konark, sustained critical injuries after a piece of marble accidentally fell on him on Saturday.

The victim has been identified as Gurudeb Sheikh, a native of West Bengal.

Gurudeb was admitted to Konark Primary Health Centre and later shifted to Bhubaneswar after his condition deteriorated. He reportedly fractured his right leg in the accident.

According to available information, the incident took place when the peripheral development and beatification work of the temple was underway by Indian Oil Foundation (IOF).
