Sambalpur: The lagna (auspicious time) of ‘Nabanna Lagi’ ritual (offering of new rice) on the occasion of Nuakhai has been finalised.
‘Nabanna’ will be offered to the Goddess Samalei between 9.35 am and 9.50 am on August 23, announced Brahmapura Temple Trust Committee today.
Nuakhai or Nuankhai is one of the most important festivals in western Odisha.
On August 11, Sambalpur Collector Shubham Saxena had informed that there will be no shutdown in the district on August 15 and again on August 22 and 23 on account of Independence Day and Nuakhai.
