New Delhi: Former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav has been admitted to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) here after developing pneumonia late on Saturday evening.
The RJD supremo has been kept in the hospital’s cardiac intensive care unit (CICU) under the supervision of a team of doctors led by professor of the department of cardiology, Dr Rakesh Yadav, an official told news agency IANS.
Lalu Prasad was brought to the national capital by air ambulance after his health condition worsened while undergoing treatment at Ranchi’s Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) Hospital.
He is accompanied by his wife Rabri Devi and sons Tej Pratap and Tejashwi Yadav.
Earlier an eight-member team of RIMS had referred him to AIIMS, New Delhi, for further treatment.
Lalu is being treated for a lung infection at a hospital in Ranchi, where he is serving a jail sentence after he was convicted in the Bihar fodder scam, according to an NDTV report.
