Berhampur: The lease deed of 10 acre of land for the new Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) at Chhatrapur in Ganjam district was handed over to the KV Pratisthan (KVP) at the Sub-Registrar office on Thursday.
The Union Cabinet had approved for setting up 50 new Kendriya Vidyalayas under the Civil/Defence sector across the country on March 7 last year. Of these, four would be set up in Odisha.
The new KVs will come up at Anandpur and Champua in Keonjhar district, Chhatrapur in Ganjam district and Gunupur in Rayagada district of the state. Once all the 50 KVs are fully functional, those will provide quality education to approximately 50,000 students, sources said.
