New Delhi: The second in command of the proscribed terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) Saifullah Kasuri has admitted that the group has links with the Pakistan Army.
A video of Kasuri speaking at an event at a children’s school in Pakistan has surfaced, in which he confirms the link. The video clip has been confirmed as genuine by intelligence sources, as reported by NDTV.
The LeT was behind the dastardly Pahalgam attack in Jammu and Kashmir on April 22, 2025, in which 26 people were killed.
In the video, Kasuri is seen standing on a raised platform decorated with red balloons. Half of what seems to be the school’s logo is visible.
“Pakistan’s Army invites me to lead funeral prayers. Do you know India is also scared of me?” the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist is heard saying in the video.
A terrorist like Kasuri would not be allowed near a school elsewhere in the world, but things are different in Pakistan where the attempt is to infuse anti-India feelings into young minds.
While the link between the Pakistan Army and terrorist organisations like the LeT are well-known in India, the admission by Kasuri is crucial for the world to realise the real situation in Pakistan.
India has launched Operation Sindoor after the Pahalgam terror strike, targetting terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Among the locations targetted was the LeT’s headquarters in Muridke.
After the cessation of operations, the LeT and Jaish-e-Mohamed (JeM) – another terror outfit targeted by India – started regrouping and rebuilding infrastructure destroyed during the missile strikes.
The JeM has also renewed attempts to infiltrate terrorists into Jammu and Kashmir by operating launch pads close to the Line of Control (LOC), with help from the Pakistan Army.
Northern Army commander Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma has reviewed the security measures and counter infiltration grid along the Line of Control (LoC) in north Kashmir, with officers briefing him on the measures undertaken in the hinterland to dominate the operational space.
