Koraput: With the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicting heavy rain in south Odisha, the Koraput district administration has cancelled leaves of all government employees till September 28.
As per the IMD, another low-pressure area is likely to form and intensify into a depression, crossing the south Odisha-north Andhra Pradesh coasts around September 27. Heavy to very heavy rain, thunderstorms, and lightning are predicted in several places in Koraput district.
In view of the weather prediction, the administration issued an order stating that all government officials and staff are directed to report back to their respective headquarters immediately and are not allowed to leave without permission till September 28, the notification stated.
Any deviation from these instructions will be viewed seriously, the order added.
