Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik conferred the first Sikander Alam Memorial award on veteran Odia singer Pranab Kishore Patnaik at State Secretariat here on Friday.
The singer was presented a memento, a citation and a shawl.
In the memory of eminent singer Sikandar Alam, the Sikandar Alam Foundation gave this award on his 79th birthday.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik paid rich tributes to Sikander Alam and congratulated Pranab Patnaik for the award.
Tourism and Culture Minister Ashok Panda, wife and daughter of late Sikander Alam and Utkala Prasanga secretary Lenin Mohanty were present.
