Hamilton: New Zealand beat Pakistan in the second T20 International on Sunday to seal the three-match series 2-0.
But more than the home team’s series win, the talking point was a picture clicked in the night sky of Hamilton. A photographer covering the day-night match at Seddon Park captured Jupiter and Saturn in the same frame in the night sky.
It was in the 10th over of New Zealand’s innings when the lensman got his prized catch. No sooner than he posted the picture online, it went viral.
It’s an extremely rare cosmic phenomenon, taking place for the first time in 800 years, which will see Jupiter and Saturn aligning to form a ‘Christmas Star’ on December 21. Sunday’s viewing was a ‘sneak peek’.
