Vadodara: A leopard attacked a couple and snatched away their four-month-old son in Gujarat’s tribal-dominated Chhota Udaipur district, around 100 km from Vadodara.
Vikram Rathwa and his wife Sapna, were travelling on a motorcycle when the leopard attacked them on Saturday. The woman was injured in the attack and their son snatched away, for a brief period, by the leopard.
“Around dusk yesterday, the leopard, which emerged from a nearby field, attacked us, injured Sapna on her knees and snatched our infant son Ayush,” Rathwa told PTI.
He claimed that his cries for help alerted villagers who assembled at the spot and managed to scare the leopard into releasing the infant.
An official said that the three were taken to the state-run Shri Sayajirao General Hospital in Vadodara.
Doctors there said that the infant had sustained injuries on his back and legs.
