Ganjam: A leopard trapped in a net laid by some poachers was rescued by forest officials in Nagudu village under Buguda Forest Range in Ganjam district on Thursday.
As per sources, some unidentified hunters had laid a net to catch boar but a leopard got trapped and started roaring.
The roar spread panic among the villagers, who informed the Forest officials.
The Forest staff rescued the big cat, tranquilized it and released into the nearby forest.
The hunters managed to give the forest staff a slip.
