Balangir: Three women were killed and three others seriously injured when lightning struck them at Badatelenpalli in Sadar block of Balangir district on Tuesday afternoon.
According to reports, around 18-20 farmers of the village were working in a paddy field when they were struck by lightning. One of the women died on the spot and two others succumbed on way to to the district headquarters hospital.
The condition of three others undergoing treatment is stated to be critical.
