Bhubaneswar: In a heart-warming experience, a little girl got a rare opportunity to meet Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on dais at the venue of a rally in Bhubaneswar on Friday.
A video showed the touching moment during the Congress rally at Baramunda Ground in the capital city as the girl, identified as Neelam Bastia from Jagatsinghpur, not only had a close encounter with Rahul Gandhi but also interacted with him for quite some time.
Visibly thrilled over her interaction with Rahul, the little girl later narrated her experience and gave a detailed account of what transpired between the two on stage.
The Congress leader even offered her chocolates and shared a gentle hug, creating a joyful atmosphere, while Neelam also gifted a kiss to Rahul.
Extremely happy over the pleasant moments, the class V girl said Rahul asked her name and sought to know as to which class she was studying in.
Stating that the Congress leader asked about her favourite subject, Neelam said, “I told him that Mathematics is my favourite subject and I get good scores in it.”
“I also told him that my mother is his big fan. Then he asked me to give a kiss, and I obliged. Rahul ji also gave me a chocolate and asked me to study well. When he asked me about my future ambition, I expressed interest in doing politics like him. I will share the chocolate given by Rahul ji with my mother,” said Neelam.
It may be noted that Rahul Gandhi, who is leader of opposition in Lok Sabha, and Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge were in Bhubaneswar on Friday to attend ‘Save Constitution’ rally organised by the party in the state capital.
