Bhubaneswar: Governor Ganeshi Lal and Chief of Eastern Air Command Air Marshal DK Patnaik along with 1000 VIPs were present at Kuakhai river bank at Balijatra ground in Odisha capital on Friday to witness the IAF’ Suryakiran Aerobatic Team air show.
The live streaming of the event, which is divided into two parts – composite formation and synchro-manoeuvring, has started. The display routine of the team, which will exhibit a series of loops, barrel rolls and other breathtaking aerial manoeuvres with nine red and white HAWK Mk-132 aircraft, will continue for a duration of 18-20 minutes.
The event is being held to commemorate 75 years of Independence with an aim to motivate young students to take up a career in the armed forces.
Anticipating 50,000 people at the riverbank, the Twin City Commissionerate Police has made elaborate arrangements for crowd management during the show. A total of 15 platoon police force have been deployed while 100 other officers have been pressed on duty.
