Angul: Demanding the stoppage of Puri-Sambalpur Inter City Express and Balangir-Bhubaneswar Inter City Express at Bamur railway station under Kishorenagar block in Odisha Angul district, the locals under the banner of the Rail Upabhokta Committee on Friday staged rail roko at the railway station.
The Committee called for a 12-hour bandh in Kishorenagar and Bamur in protest against the non-fulfilment of the long-standing demands of the people these localities. The bandh is being supported by several social organisations and civil societies.
Apprehending law and order situation, the district administration has made elaborate security arrangements at Kishorenagar and Bamur with the deployment of additional police force.
