Mumbai: Poonam Pandey, the controversial model and actress, passed away on Thursday night after battling cervical cancer. She was 32.
This came to light after an Instagram post on her account announced the demise on Friday morning.
“This morning is a tough one for us. Deeply saddened to inform you that we have lost our beloved Poonam to cervical cancer. Every living form that ever came in contact with her was met with pure love and kindness. In this time of grief, we would request for privacy while we remember her fondly for all that we shared.”
The news not only left many fans shocked but also some confused. Many believed that her account had been hacked. Her manager’s confirmation, however, has put all speculations to rest, ETimes TV reported.
Poonam Pandey gained prominence in 2011 following a statement that stirred controversy during the ICC Cricket World Cup. She made her Bollywood debut with the 2013 film ‘Nasha’. She was last seen in Kangana Ranaut’s reality show ‘Lock Upp’.
