Bhubaneswar: Following the Centre’s decision to allow starnded workers and students to return to their home states amid the countrywide lockdown, 116 students from Odisha in Kota, Rajasthan left for their home state on Wednesday night in the first phase.
According to reports, the students left Landmark City and Mahavir Nagar in Kota in four private buses at their own expense, with each student contributing Rs 4000. The buses will arrive in Odisha through Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. It will take approximately 30 hours for the students to arrive in Rourkela.
The remaining students will return to Odisha in batches.
The Odisha government has prepared a list of 975 students who are stranded in Kota for their return and given the route permits to these buses to ensure their hassle-free journey.
