Lockdown 3.0: Domestic & International Flights Banned Till May 17

New Delhi: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Saturday clarified that all foreign and domestic flights, barring cargo operations, will be banned till May 17.

“The restriction shall not apply to international all-cargo operations and flights specifically approved by DGCA,” read the circular.

Airlines are reportedly training their staff on social distancing norms.

On Friday, global aviation consultancy CAPA had projected India’s domestic air traffic at 5.5-7 crore for the current financial year due to structural damage and weakness of customer sentiment becoming more visible, reported Hindustan Times.

Airlines in India are expected to keep the middle seats vacate in order to curb the spread of coronavirus.
