Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government decided to revise the staff strength of different departments after a high-level meeting on Saturday.
As per the decision, 15 departments listed in the critical category will work with 50 per cent officers/staff who will attend their duty on a roster basis. These departments are Agriculture & FE, Commerce & Transport, Cooperation, Excise, F&ARD, Finance, FS&CW, GA&PG, H&UD, Health & Family Welfare, Home, Labour & ESI, PR&DW, R&DM and Steel & Mines.
On the other hand, the departments in the non-critical category will work with 30 per cent officers/staff who will attend duty on a roster basis.
The Administrative Department will decide the scale of operations in the field offices of both categories in line with the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The departments may allow corporations/agencies/PSUs under their administrative control, engaged in handling essential goods and services and other critical activities like mining, agriculture procurement, industrial development, forest plantation and maintenance, procurement of minor forest produce, beverages etc. to operate with 100 per cent capacity.
All state government employees, who won’t be attending the office, will work from home. This order will remain effective from May 4 till the lockdown ends on May 17.
