Lockdown 4.0: Odisha Govt Raises Kharif Loan Target To Rs 9,000 Crore

Bhubaneswar: In a bid to help the farmers tide over financial constraints faced by them due to the lockdown in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak, the state government has raised the cooperative kharif loan target to Rs 9,000 crore.

Briefing the mediapersons here on Thursday, Cooperation minister Ranendra Pratap Swain said the government has increased the cooperative kharif loan target from Rs 7,500 crore to Rs 9,000 crore.

While disbursing the loan, the minister said, priority will be given to small and marginal farmers, migrants, joint liability groups and women self-help groups.

Besides, steps have been taken to provide short-term credit for fisheries, animal husbandry, dairy and poultry sectors for which the district collectors have been asked to take necessary action, Swain said.
