Nine days into the lockdown, ordered by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to check the spread of novel coronavirus, some people have settled down to a new routine while others are still trying to figure out the best way to reshape their daily lives.
Prem Anand, music director of the Odia film industry, is enjoying spending time with his family — something he couldn’t do earlier because of a busy work schedule. By his own admission, he is getting a chance to bond with his children during the lockdown period when he is confined to his home.
He is also reading a lot more and watching news channels to keep himself updated.
But that doesn’t mean it’s all play and no work for the music director.
“In this situation, we have to pay attention on how to take the Ollywood industry forward,” Anand says.
He is in constant touch with composers and lyricists to discuss new compositions and lyrics, and ways to organise possible recordings in the near future, whenever the restrictions are lifted.
“I am experimenting with music while staying at home. This is the ideal time to try out different things. I am also getting to learn a lot from national and international artists by watching videos and television. I pray to Lord Jagannath that he makes the world free from this pandemic soon,” Anand signs off on an optimistic note.
