The travel bans and quarantine orders put in place by the government during the nationwide lockdown, to battle the coronavirus pandemic, has reshaped our lives.
Odia fashion blogger Shweta Choudhury is using the time to make creative and useful content for her followers. She is reaching out to home-stuck audiences through Instagram and blogging.
“The brands have move beyond traditional dressing or product placements… They are exploring new ways to refresh their look and stand out online. They are also encouraging more content made at home like DIY (do it yourself) look and recreating old looks of celebrities with easily accessible stuff,” says Shweta.
She struggled a bit initially, but the prolonged lockdown has come as a blessing in disguise for her. “I’m getting to spend so much time with my family in Cuttack… My mother is also helping me,” confesses Shweta, who is based in Bhubaneswar for her work.
She has been trying her hand in cooking. “I’ve realised I’m not a bad cook,” she quips.
In the early phase of lockdown, Shweta wasn’t getting too much work. “Now the pace has picked up and is almost back to normal as e-commerce has resumed, at least for essentials,” she observes.
“I recently collaborated with ‘Sebastian Professional’ and @becurefit. Now I have been approached by Myntra and Flipkart again,” reveals Shweta, adding that she is looking forward to collaborating with many other brands and institutions.
Covid-19 is at the back of her mind, and she wishes that the people of Odisha will continue to fight together and win the battle against this pandemic.
