Bargarh: Police have foiled loot attempt by a gang of dacoits and arrested its five members in Odisha’s Bargarh town.
Speaking at a presser on Monday, Bargarh SP Prahalad Sahai Meena said a team of Bargarh Town police station found the five persons moving suspiciously on Jeera bridge in the town on early morning of the day.
The police intercepted them and enquired about their identity and other details. As the five persons could not give satisfactory replies, they were taken to the police station.
During questioning, the police came to know that they were dacoits. While two of them were from Bihar, three others belonged to different places of Bargarh district.
The police seized 5 guns, 34 live cartridges, two motorcycles and seven mobile phones from their possession. After the five persons admitted that they were going for loot in the town, the police arrested them.
After going through due process, the police forwarded all the five arrested persons to court on the day, the SP said.
