Lord Jagannath ‘Comes Calling’ At Cuttack Homes
Cuttack: The city witnessed a remarkable promotion of Jagannath culture recently with a squad of youngsters painting portraits of the Lord on the walls of houses in Mangalbagh area.
The door-to-door campaign led by Cuttack-based artist Chandraprakash Routray was launched from the day of Rath Yatra. According to Routray, the campaign was an effort to cheer people amidst the coronavirus pandemic and the consequent lockdown.
The initiative has drawn praises from the residents of Mangalbagh. They said it was part of Lord Jagannath’s leela (divine act) to visit their homes as they could not go to Puri to witness the Rath Yatra this year in the wake of the Supreme Court’s order.
