Love Is Blind: Youth From Odisha’s Balasore Gets Corona After Getting Married In WB

Balasore: A youth from Odisha’s Balasore district proved that love knows no boundaries and fears none, not even coronavirus when he went to neighbouring East Medinipur district, a hotspot in West Bengal to marry the love of his life. He did get married  but ended up testing corona positive within three weeks

However, his wife and sister-in-law have tested negative. On the flip side, all the villagers who attended the wedding feast are living in fear now.

How he managed to organise the wedding despite the government’s ban on large gatherings and social events is still a mystery. Meanwhile, the administration has traced at least 160 contacts and sent their swab samples for tests. Since the youth had interacted with many people and even participated in paddy harvesting along with others, further contact tracing is on, reported The New Indian Express.

The Palasia village native, which falls under Bhogarai block works in Bengaluru. He had returned home a few days before nationwide lockdown was imposed as his marriage was fixed for April 17.  It is reported that against government guidelines that no public function can be attended by more than 10 persons, he took around 30 baratis on 16 bikes to Ramnagar block in West Bengal to tie the knot.
