Balangir: The death of Rajat Kumar Pradhan (23) of Aainlachuan village under police limits in Odisha’s Balangir district took a new turn on Thursday after police investigation revealed that his lover, who happens to be a minor, conspired to get rid of him.
Police have six persons, including Suryakant Selmatha, the prime accused, and also recovered Rajat’s mobile phone and the sword and iron rod used in the crime from an abandoned well.
According to sources, the girl took the help of her guy friends to eliminate Rajat and the body was thrown on the railway track to pass it off as a case of suicide. His body was recovered from the railway line near Khujen Pali village on June 24, a day after he went missing and his mobile phone was found switched off. Even as his family suspected that he might have been murdered, police recovered his blood-stained shirt from a tree, 6 km away from the railway track.

This is a clear case of kidnapping and murder over love affair, his father had told the media.
