Bhubaneswar: With a low-pressure area likely to form over the Bay of Bengal by Saturday, Odisha may receive heavy rainfall for the next three days.
“A cyclonic circulation lies over Northwest Bay of Bengal off West Bengal coast and extends up to 3.1 km above mean sea level tilting southwards with height. Under its influence, a low-pressure area is likely to form over Northwest and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal by tomorrow,” the mid-day bulletin of Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre said on Friday.
The Met Office has issued heavy rainfall alert for several districts in Odisha.

Heavy rainfall is very likely at one or two places in Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khordha, Jagatsinghpur, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Angul, Deogarh and Kandhamal.
Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Boudh, Rayagada, Koraput and Malkangiri.

Heavy rainfall is very likely at one or two places in Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Gajapati and Ganjam.
