Bhubaneswar: A tropical low pressure may develop in the southern Bay of Bengal next week, international forecasting manager, Accuweather, Jason Nicholls tweeted on Thursday.
“Scattered rains will continue in southern #India into next week while a western disturbance can bring rain/snow to N #Pakistan & far NW India Friday into early next week. Watch for a tropical low to develop in the southern Bay of Bengal next week,” he wrote.
The IMD in its October 27 North Indian Ocean Extended Range Outlook for Cyclogenesis had predicted formation of a fresh cyclonic circulation over eastcentral Bay of Bengal between October 28 and November 3.
“Various extended range models are also indicating the likely formation of another cyclonic circulation over eastcentral BoB during week 2 with a low probability of its intensification into a depression,” it said.
In its midday bulletin on Thursday, the MeT office has forecast light to moderate rain till Friday. Dry weather will prevail in the state till November 7,” it said, adding that there will be no large change in temperature for the next four to five days.
