Low Pressure Over Bay Of Bengal May Turn Into Depression; Check Rain Forecast For Odisha

Bhubaneswar: A low-pressure area is likely to form over Southeast Bay of Bengal around November 14 and move west-northwestwards before intensifying into a depression over Central and adjoining South Bay of Bengal around November 16, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Saturday.

Under its influence, light to moderate rain is likely in Odisha from November 15.

November 15

Light to moderate rain/ thundershower may  occur at a few places in South Coastal Odisha, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, and at one or two places in North Coastal Odisha.

November 16

Light to moderate rain/thundershower is likely at a few places in Coastal Odisha and at one or two places in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Koraput and Malkangiri.

November 17

Light to moderate rain/thundershower may occur at a few places in North Coastal Odisha, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Angul, Khurda, Puri, and at one or two places in rest districts of South Coastal Odisha, Kandhamal, Boudh, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur,Kalahandi and Sundargarh.

There will be large change in  the night temperature during these 5 days, it added.

Fishermen have been advised not to venture sea into these areas.

✓ Squally weather with wind speed 40-45 kmph gusting to 55 kmph over Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining Andaman sea during November 14-15.

✓ Squally weather with wind speed 40-45 kmph gusting to 55 kmph over Westcentral Bay of Bengal and adjoining Eastcentral Bay of Bengal, adjoining Southwest and Southeast Bay of Bengal during November 15-16.
