Bhubaneswar: Heavy rainfall is likely over most parts of Odisha in next 48 hours under the influence of the well-marked low pressure area over Gangetic West Bengal and neighbourhood.
In a bulletin, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday said the well-marked low pressure that was formed over coastal Bangladesh and adjoining West Bengal has moved to interior parts of Gangetic West Bengal and neighbourhood with the associated cyclonic circulation extending upto upper tropospheric levels.
The system is likely to move west-northwestwards across Jharkhand, south Bihar and southern parts of Uttar Pradesh during next 48 hours. Under its influence, fairly widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy rain is likely over Odisha on July 30 and 31.
The Met office also forecast strong wind with a speed of 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph over northwest and westcentral Bay of Bengal and along and off north Andhra Pradesh-Odisha-West Bengal coast is likely in next 24 hours.
