Bhubaneswar: With the India Meteorological Department issuing a yellow warning for dense fog in 10 districts of Odisha, the state government has directed the district collectors to take necessary measures.
Apprehending the possibility of road accidents due to poor visibility, Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Pradeep Jena has directed the collectors of six coastal districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur and four interior districts of Boudh, Sonepur, Bargarh and Nayagarh to take adequate steps.
Meanwhile, intense cold wave condition continued to prevail in most parts of interior Odisha on Tuesday with the night temperature plummeting to single digit in Phulbani which registered 8 degrees Celsius, Sonepur (8.2) and Daringbadi (9.2).
The temperature remained at 15 degrees and below in Boudh (13.5), Malkangiri (13.5), Titlagarh (14.5), Koraput (10.8), Balangir (14), Bhawanipatna (10.2), Talcher (13.8), Sundargarh (13.5), Sambalpur (14.8), Keonjhar (13.8), Jharsuguda (13.7), Baripada (15) and Angul (12).
