Bhubaneswar: For the first time popular television actress Madhusmita Pradhan is playing a character role in the upcoming ‘Kotiere Gotie Mana’, a film by award winning filmmaker Rajgopal Mishra popularly known as Raju Mishra.
Produced under the banner of Milan Movies, the film has been produced by Dillip Dhirsamant. Written by Mishra, the film also features veterans Kuna Tripathy, Mihir Das along with newcomers Ankita Rout and Rohit Raj.
“I am playing the role of a widow. My character is very important to the story. Clad in a white saree and wearing glasses I represent a typical Odia middle-aged woman. It is a family drama which reflects human relations, happiness and sorrow”, said Pradhan not revealing much about the story. The film’s shooting is almost complete.
“I am hopeful that audience will like the film. It will bring back the originality
in Odia cine industry”, added the actress who received a State Award for her performance in the mega serial ‘Badhu’. She proved her mettle by playing a double role, both positive and negative.
She was also featured in the 2014 Odia flick ‘Smile Please’.
“I don’t want to restrict myself to glam-doll roles. Experimenting different characters gives me satisfaction as an artiste”, she signed off.
