Mahanga Double Murder: Prime Accused Among Four Detained

Cuttack: Three days after the brutal murder of BJP leader Kulamani Baral and his associate Dibyasingha Baral near z in Mahanga block, the Cuttack Rural Police apprehended four persons including the prime accused during a late-night raid on Monday.

Sources said that the police have begun the interrogation of the four persons at an undisclosed location.

As informed by the Cuttack Rural SP, B Jugal Kishore, the special teams are conducting raids to nab more persons involved in the crime. He said that the police will brief the media later in the day.

Notably, Ramakanta Biswal, son of Kulamani, had lodged a complaint against 13 persons including the Mahanga MLA and Law Minister Pratap Jena, four persons of Jankoti village, and eight of Nrutttanga village in the gruesome murder of his father.

Acting on the complaint, police had begun the probe.
